What do you identify love as? A relationship, person, place, or thing? Yes, love can be in all of those things. But at some point in our lives, we go through heartbreaks and hurt. We have to realize that these things will not fully satisfy us. Money, relationships, nothing can fill a void that we have in our hearts. The only thing that will heal our hearts and fill a void is Jesus. During our seasons when we feel alone and like we are in a valley, He is the same God that was with you when you were on the mountain. You are truly never alone. He is always with us! We have to lean onto Him and into the calling that He has for us.
Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates his love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
His love is true love. He didn’t have to die on the cross for us but He did.
Yes God does bless us and give us the gifts of relationships, money, a house, etc. We just have to remember the most important relationship, the most important person, and the most important thing, Jesus.
Sometimes when we are invested in relationships and worldly things, we get obsessive and make them our #1 person and thing that we are chasing after.
There is another very important Bible verse: 1 Corinthians 13:8 “Love never fails [it never fades nor ends]. But as for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for the gift of special knowledge, it will pass away.”
There is a quote I have seen that says: “The Bible says “Love never fails” so if it fails, it was never love.
When I saw this quote, it opened my eyes. Relationships may fail, money may go away, etc. But one thing for certain is that God will never leave us, and His love will never fail.
