Presence and sand

This week on vacation at the beach, two words were put in my heart. Present and sand… While those words seem so random, I have found some meaning in them. Present/presence: As I was sitting on the beach, I was thinking about the days we had left until we get home feeling that I was going to have forever, but knowing it's only a week… I then remembered that I needed to be present to enjoy and be relaxed and soak up the time I have here.
I have and still am realizing how much time I spend worrying about my future, and the future in general. I have fallen victim to wasting time worrying about my future and what I hope and want it to look like, the future of what my school and future job might look like, and what life might look like in years to come. So if you are anything like me, I pray that we put all our hope and trust in God and know that He loves us, protects us, and has us in his hands!
Matthew 6:34 “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
Now… The word sand. Again, on the beach, I was sitting reading my Bible and it came to me: God loves us more than all of the grains of sand. I have heard this before and have never paid attention to it until I was on the beach and surrounded by sand. It is crazy to think how many grains of sand there are, not only on the beach that you may go to but the whole entire world!
Psalm 139:17-18 “How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I would count them, they are more than the sand. I awake, and I am still with you.”
Let this be a reminder to all of us how much God loves us, and how Good He is!
